Reuters - Nearly a third of all U.S. household Internet activity takes place while the user watches television, suggesting new and old media often share rather than compete for attention, the Nielsen Company said in a report on Friday.

Investor's Business Daily - Expensive smart phones actually may provide cash-strapped households with a way to save money, according to a new study by researcher comScore. The study says some lower-income households are buying Apple's popular iPhone because it's a phone, music player, camera and Web surfing device all in one. That means they don't need additional gadgets or a separate broadband connection. Sales of iPhones to households that earn $25,000 to $52,000 a year rose 48% from June to Aug. vs. the overall rate of 21%.
