1999 - Le Mans - Martin Brundle's accident |
 At 11.33pm, the #1 Toyota GT One spun big time as Martin Brundle braked for the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight. It hit the armco shedding bits of bodywork everywhere and then Martin began to try and limp back very slowly trailing sparks from the rear as the bodywork dragged along the tarmac. He didn't make it and parked on the kerb near Arnage.
The marshals are now trying to drag it out of the way.
We hear that Brundle remains unclear quite why his Toyota snapped out of line, maybe the team will know more if and when they can get to the car. Eventually According to the Toyota people, the reason for Brundle's retirement was a hole in the tyre possibly caused by gravel dumped by the number 15 BMW.

It is a blast to drive and is very fast. It should run low 10s to high 9s in the quarter mile. Fresh Full Repaint in Dupont Super Jet Black (G9900S) - less than 4000 miles on the paint. Garage kept. Less than 25000 miles on a brand new shortblock from Toyota. Less than 2000 miles on new Bullseye S380 turbo. Less than 500 miles on new CCW Drag package wheels - first Supra with 17" front skinnies from CCW. Less than 1500 miles on custom designed clutch from SPEC. There is approximately 130k on the chassis. Many more pictures from day 1 through the build to now, and many reciepts/invoices. I have no reason to sell the car, there is no urgency - I would sell it if the price was right. I have invested a lot of time, work and money into the car for the 5 years I have owned it.
