Toshiba to expand the powers of the TV set-top box

AP - Toshiba Corp. is planning to use the Cell processor, the brain of Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 3 game console, to create an ultra-powerful TV set-top box that can record up to six high-definition channels at once and improve the look of any video.

Panasonic Joins the Pocket-Camcorder Party

The two new additions to the Panasonic camcorder line will offer easy YouTube uploads, and their compact sizes make them geared to carrying in a pocket or purse.

PC World - Camcorders will flood the halls of CES 2008, based what we are seeing so far. Just before the show officially opened, Sony introduced 15 new camcorder models. Some of Sony's offerings include flash-based and high-definition models and others offer mega-zoom features with one sporting 60X-optical lenses priced below $500. Sony even has a model with built-in GPS and others that fit in your pocket - a la Flip Mino style.

At the Consumer Electronics Show today, the company introduced two Blu-ray players that offer access to on-demand streaming content from Netflix, CinemaNow, and YouTube. LG also took the wraps off three new Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Systems.
