Sony's First Flash-Based Camcorders

PC World - Sony has been one of the busiest companies at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with 15 new announcements in the camcorder category alone. Among the new home-video offerings are the company's first forays into flash-memory camcorders, with five new models that incorporate solid-state drives. Four of the five camcorders capture standard-definition only.

Panasonic HDTVs To Support Amazon Video on Demand

PC World - Sometime later this year, owners of new and recent Panasonic plasma HDTVs will be able to stream videos rented from Amazon.com directly to their TVs. The companies announced their video-on-demand cooperation today at Panasonic's Consumer Electronics Shows news conference, where Panasonic executives also spoke about the company's initiatives with 3D HDTV and its efforts to go green.
