Confusion About Blogs

Hi,

Just want to clarify, are the Blogs in LinkUpGold, blogs that are especially created by the admin or users? I would like to link to existing external blogs like as in a Wordpress blogroll, for example. Should I therefore just create a Blogs category and put normal links to each blog under that category?

Blogs can be entered by admin and also by users. If users should not be able to submit their content to the blogs section, you can remove the links to create and edit blogs, these are in templates _head2.txt and user_home.html, also delete the files blog_create.php and blog_edit.php in main directory.

If you want to link to another site where is the complete blog, you can add the link to the text of the article.

I seem to be confused about blogs and Articles. I don't see any difference between the two.

Could you please clarify it more?

The blogs section was added because our users asked for it but it really has the same features like the articles section. You however can use there unique categories, fields and also templates can be different, so this section can be totally different than the section for articles. I would for example suggest to use the articles section for your own texts and the blogs section can allow users submissions.
