Hello,
I've just bought and installed Ad Manager Pro.
But, there is so much to the software and the documentation isn't really helping me as much as it could.
Got my head around the template system, although it would be good to turn off the other options (orange, etc), as I already have a style for my site, and don't need the Ad Manager part of it to have four style (nor do I want to have to maintain them). So, I've made my edits to common/blue, is there an easy way to turn off the choice for users? I've edited the join template files for advertisers and publishers to make the drop down a hidden field with the value of Blue, but I'm sure that isn't the best way to do it, and I notice the option also appears in the Edit Account page.
If a publisher creates a zone like a Banner 468x60, is that zone exclusive to that publisher, or can advertisers chose a zone which cross various publishers?
How do advertisers pay for ads? I added a test ad, and had the 'Pay directly for this order' option selected, but can't see how or where it triggers a PayPal invoice? How's that work? Am I missing something?
Is it possible to turn off Days / Clicks advertising if I only want to sell Impression-based ads? Especially useful if cross-publisher ads are possible.
I added my test ad, but haven't paid for it. Why, when I look under Refferal URLs do I see a long list of URLs? It hasn't been showing the ad, as far as I can tell. Is this the data from the default ad? In which case it's a bit misleading to show that unrelated data to an advertiser.
Is it possible to turn off the dynamic counter on the homepage stats? If it's not actually live data, then it's a bit silly, and visitors will lose trust in our sites if we lie to them.
Why is there a '0' in the right hand side of the header? Is that assuming that I want to put a banner up there that isn't configured? What if I don't want to put a banner there?
None of the Flash stats charts are working for me. Just get 'Error in Loading Data' wherever it tries to display one. What might that be?
I'm sure I'll have other questions - but that's what I had after going through the install today.
Thanks,
Pete |

Please delete unwanted styles in the "styles" folder. If you want to use only the style Blue, delete the subfolders Orange, Silver and Brown. Then go to configuration and hit the submit button below the form.
Zones can be created only by admin. You also can choose if publishers and advertisers can use each individual zone. If you allow publishers to use a zone, all publishers can use it.
If you selected to pay directly for the order, it gives you payment links. If you can't see them, the most likely reason is that you did not configure payment methods which should be accepted. It's available in configuration. To accept paypal, simply enter your paypal email and choose a currency from the list.
You can remove the clicks and days options in the template advertiser_campaign_edit.txt. I also can edit it for you, feel free to email me.
If you can see a list of URL's in the ad statistic, it displayed there this ad. I can check it for you.
The home page is editable in the template index.html, you can remove the statistic.
In configuration is the option to enter an ad to show at the top of all pages. Please enter there a code of an ad or another html code which it should show there. If you don't want to place there a banner, you can remove the variable #%banner_code%# in the header templates.
The flash charts don't work probably because you did not upload the file .htaccess in main directory. Please upload it (replace an existing file which is on the server) and make sure to use ASCII mode for this upload.
I also can configure and check everything on your server, also changes are possible if you need some. Feel free to email me. |

Thanks for the fast reply.
For Paypal, Done a second test, and it takes me to PayPal this time (dunno why it didn't the first time). One question. I already have IPN for another site - does this use a per-order basis to get PayPal to notify the correct URL?
I'd appreciate it if you could give me a copy of advertiser_campaign_edit.txt that only allowed impressions-based ads. Many thanks!
Couldn't find a copy of .htaccess in the zip file to install. BTW, I already use a .htaccess (the main site is Joomla), so I take it I can just paste in the additional code necessary?

Also.. If an advertiser creates an ad, but abandons at the PayPal screen, is there any way they can go back and pay later, or do they have to create the ad again?
Thanks,
Pete |

You can use the same paypal account. It sends them the correct URL's with each payment request so it will not affect the other script.
I also sent you by email the files. |
